Neslihan Dogan received her BS degree in Chemical Engineering from Yildiz Technical University in 2005 and her PhD in the Department of Engineering and Industrial Sciences at Swinburne University of Technology in 2011. In the course of her PhD, Dr Dogan developed a mathematical model of decarburization reaction kinetics in oxygen steelmaking process. From 2011 to 2013, Dr Dogan worked as a post doctoral fellow in the Department of Materials Engineering at University of Wollongong. There she worked on a variety of topics including modification and removability of inclusions in liquid steel and effects of lance pattern on the blowing practice of oxygen steelmaking process. Dr Dogan joined the Department of Materials Sciences and Engineering at the McMaster University in 2013.
Dr Dogan research interests lie in the area of process metallurgy. Her research has focused on kinetics and thermodynamics of chemical reactions in steelmaking process using modelling and high temperature experimental techniques to help the steel industry optimise their production.
